Cyber intelligence practice

Know what adversaries already know about you.

Aureon's cyber intelligence practice watches the places where attacks are prepared: criminal markets and forums, infostealer logs, leak sites, newly registered domains, app stores, ad networks and the open internet. Our analysts verify what they find, measure whether it is really exploitable and act on it, from password resets to takedowns and notifications to authorities.

Sources

Where we look.

Intelligence is only as good as its sources and the people who read them. We collect continuously across the criminal supply chain and the open internet, with lawful, documented access, and we keep the raw data under strict controls.

01

Criminal forums and markets

Closed and semi-closed communities where access, data and services are traded, including initial access brokers and data sellers.

02

Infostealer logs

Credentials, cookies and session tokens harvested from infected devices, obtained from the sources where they first circulate rather than from public aggregators.

03

Ransomware leak sites

Victim listings, countdown pages and published data sets from extortion groups, monitored around the clock for you and for your suppliers.

04

Messaging channels

Channels and groups where logs, combolists, phishing kits and fraud campaigns are advertised and distributed.

05

Domain and certificate data

New registrations, DNS and mail activation and certificate transparency logs, the earliest signs that an impersonation is being prepared.

06

Internet-wide scan data

Exposed services, management interfaces, end-of-life software and misconfigurations on assets attributed to your organisation.

07

App stores, social networks and ad platforms

Fraudulent applications, impersonation profiles, fake customer-service accounts and paid search campaigns that abuse your brand.

08

Paste sites, code repositories and open sources

Leaked secrets, configuration files, internal documents and employee data exposed in public.

Modules

Seven modules, one practice.

Each module can be contracted on its own or combined into a continuous programme with a named analyst. All of them feed the same incident response team, so a finding becomes an action within hours, not a line in a monthly PDF.

Intelligence module

Credential & Session Exposure

Detection of corporate credentials, cookies and session tokens stolen by infostealers or exposed in breaches, obtained where they first circulate, verified by analysts and turned into resets within hours.

Domain & Email Impersonation Defence

Lookalike domains watched from registration to activation, alerts when a domain starts sending mail or serving content, email authentication hardened and brand indicators enabled in the inbox.

Method

From signal to action.

1

Collect

Continuous collection across criminal, technical and open sources, scoped to your domains, brands, executives, suppliers and technology stack.

2

Verify

Analysts remove duplicates, stale data and noise, attribute findings to the right accounts and assets, and rate severity and confidence.

3

Validate impact

Where you authorise it, we test whether an exposed credential, session or service still grants access, in a controlled way, so that you fix what is real first.

4

Act

Resets, takedowns, notifications to registrars, hosting providers and platforms, reports to CERTs and law enforcement, and incident activation when needed.

5

Report and improve

Alerts within hours, a monthly technical report, a quarterly executive briefing and KPIs that show exposure going down.

KPIs

Measured, not narrated.

Every programme reports on a small set of indicators agreed at the start, so leadership can see whether exposure is actually shrinking.

Discuss a programme
Time to detectHours between an exposure appearing in criminal sources and the verified alert reaching you.
Time to remediateHours or days until exposed accounts are reset, sessions revoked and exposed services closed.
Time to takedownMedian time from detection of a phishing site or impersonation to its removal.
Exposure trendExposed accounts, lookalike domains and exposed services, quarter over quarter.
Engagement models

How clients engage the practice.

Continuous programme

Monitoring across the modules you select, a named analyst, alerting within hours, monthly reports and quarterly executive briefings.

Exposure assessment

A point-in-time review of credentials, sessions, domains, attack surface and underground mentions, delivered as a technical report and an executive deck.

Takedown and fraud response

Activation when an impersonation or fraud campaign is already live, with takedown operations, evidence and notifications handled end to end.

Portfolio monitoring for insurers

Exposure and leak-site monitoring across an insured portfolio or a panel of clients, with alerts routed to the insurer, the broker or the insured.

From intelligence to evidence

Intelligence that ends in evidence.

Because the practice sits next to our forensic and incident response teams, every case is documented to the standard a regulator, an insurer or a court expects.

Digital Forensics & Incident Response
  • Case records for every takedown, with the notices sent to registrars, hosting providers, content delivery networks and platforms, and their responses.
  • Notifications to national CERTs and sector authorities where the law or the client requires them.
  • Bilingual reports and formal letters that clients can submit to law enforcement, courts and regulators.
  • Remediation annexes that list every affected account and asset so that IT can act without interpretation, delivered encrypted.
  • Draft notifications to affected suppliers, partners and customers, ready for the client's approval.
  • Direct activation of incident response when a finding indicates an intrusion in progress.
Questions we are asked

Frequently asked questions.

How is this different from a subscription to a monitoring platform?

A platform shows you data. We deliver verified findings, test whether they are exploitable, carry out the resets and takedowns with you and report in a form your board, your insurer and your regulator can use. Our sources include criminal channels that public aggregators do not reach, or reach late.

Do you ever use the credentials you find?

Only under written authorisation, in a controlled validation agreed in advance, and never to access data beyond what is needed to confirm that an exposure is real. Raw data is retained under strict access controls and is never redistributed.

Can the practice work for a group with many brands and subsidiaries?

Yes. Scope is defined by domains, brands, executives and suppliers, and reporting can be consolidated at group level or split by entity, country or business line.

How quickly can monitoring start?

A continuous programme is typically live within two weeks of scoping. Takedown and fraud response can be activated the same day.
